Larson Doesn't Let Tires Get Gobbled Up Drives
To Turkey Night GP Win At Perris

2012-11-12 TurkeyNGP-Perris.JPG (72168 bytes)

Albert Wong, a photographer taking pictures in victory lane, did something that will surely become a Turkey Night Tradition. Albert asked at the end of the photo shoot of the winners, "Can we put the "Aggie" on the winning car so the driver could "Kiss The Trophy." By then the guard that was in charge of keeping the trophy safe (which included keeping it out of the line of fire of the winner's Champagne Ceremony) had walked away with the trophy to protect it from the large gathering crowd. Albert went running down the hill after the guard and asked him to bring the trophy back. The guard consented, but the best that he would allow was to place the trophy on the stage instead of the car. Therefore, a new tradition was begun at Perris Auto Speedway on November 22, 2012, and Albert Wong will forever be tied to it. Starting with Kyle’s win in 2012, the winner of Turkey Night will "Kiss The Aggie" in celebration of his historic accomplishment.

2012-03-16Bristol-.JPG (327928 bytes)
March 17, 2012 - Larson qualifed 6th of 34 cars on hand.  In the early going of the race Larson proved to be one of the fastest cars on the track as he moved up to third behind Formula 1 vet Nelson Piquet, Jr., and Casey Elliott, son of NASCAR great Bill Elliott. Near the mid point of the 125 lap race Larson started falling back with what was thought to be a tight condition on his car.
When the race was halted on lap 69 for a scheduled pit stop break, adjustments were made to loosen up the car.  However, after adjustments were completed and Larson was back out on the track, it was determined the removed right front tire was going down.  Larson restarted 10th, and while struggling with a loose setup, held on to finish ninth.

On his way to a solid top ten finish in the World of Outlaws sanctioned Mini Gold Cup Saturday at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway, 2010 King of California Kyle Larson never would have expected that his forward progress from 15th starting would be stymied while stopped under a red flag. However, with only nine laps left seventh running Larson was in the wrong place when a brakeless Bill Rose found the 18 year olds mount, which was parked on the front straight.
